A plain-language account of what GridInc stores, what our service providers may receive, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to GridInc at gridinc.co.za. GridInc is made by Saratoga Games, independently operated by Sean Wyngaard in Cape Town, South Africa.
GridInc stores your progress and settings in your browser (local storage). There is no GridInc account. This data stays on your device; you can remove it with the game's reset options or by clearing site data in your browser. Clearing it, changing browser or using another device may permanently remove your progress.
When you finish the game you can choose to submit your result. If you do, GridInc sends the nickname you enter, your completion time (days and minutes), the time of submission and a random ID created on your device to Google Firebase, where the entry is shown publicly on the online leaderboard. Nothing is sent unless you submit. Choose a nickname that does not identify you if you prefer to stay anonymous.
We use Google Analytics to understand how GridInc is found and played, so we can fix problems and improve it. It records things such as the pages you view, how long a visit lasts, in-game events such as buying a building or completing a goal, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (country or city, which Google works out from your IP address). Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses and does not receive your name, email address or leaderboard nickname.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, such as _ga, to tell separate visits apart. Google processes this information on our behalf as our analytics provider.
GridInc shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and other vendors authorised to serve or measure ads may use cookies, local storage, advertising identifiers and device or browser information to deliver, limit, secure and measure advertising. Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalised using your interests and activity, or non-personalised using contextual information such as the page you are viewing and your general location.
How Google uses information from sites that use its services
For players in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, GridInc sets no analytics or advertising cookies until you agree. Google's consent message lets you accept, reject or manage the purposes and vendors involved, and change your choice later. If you do not agree, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads.

When you visit, your browser sends technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested to the service that delivers the site. GridInc is hosted by Netlify, which may process security and access-log information under its own privacy terms.
GridInc is offered to a general audience. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, for example a real name as a leaderboard nickname, contact us and we will remove it.
